What People Are Saying :
"When I'm asked about Emily, I always tell the story of how many years ago we met on a park bench watching our daughters run around playing tennis. We spent a lot of time on that park bench over the years and listening to Emily speak about what she was doing, her work with disability, her journey, her passion really got me interested in the field that I'm currently in now and I'd like to say it's a rare and special thing to walk through life with somebody who has not only been a long-time friend but an inspiring leader. Our journey has been built on trust, shared values and mutual respect and has shaped me over the years both professionally and personally.
Your ability to lead with integrity, heart and compassion inspires me every day. The relentless work that you do each and every day to make lives of so many people, your ability to lead with integrity, vision and heart continues to inspire me. I'm grateful for the unique space our relationship holds where friendship and professionalism intertwine seamlessly.
Thank you for being a constant friend and an exceptional CEO. I'm so glad that I get to enjoy and watch you on this journey. Emily, I truly believe, leads by example.
When she comes into work she has a positive attitude, she has time for everybody in the office and in the company. She is an inspiration to everybody because her door is always open. The values and commitment that you hear Emily speak about is something that she wakes up every day and strives to do her best in her field, with her family.
I guess something else that I would say about Emily in closing, Emily takes on board her learning journey every day, whether it's from listening to another inspirational leader, a podcast, reading a book, speaking with other people. I think what we're seeing with Emily, we're just scratching the surface. I feel that I've seen so many different sides to Emily and the passion that she has for knowledge and bringing everybody along that journey with her, is what truly makes her unique and a special woman.
I'm so privileged to call her both my friend, my sister and my CEO. Thank you."

"Hi, my name is Helen. I'm one of the nurses here in BET and I'm really proud to be working under the leadership of Emily Korir who was recently awarded with the Medal of the Order of Australian by the King himself and working with BET has really been an eye-opening for me because working under the leadership of Emily who is so passionate with what she does, who has the drive, who has the zeal, it has really opened up my vision and has really motivated me in growing my career. Emily has created an environment where all our voices matters and what motivates me to waking up every day and come to work under the leadership of Emily is because all of us matters.
She has created an environment whereby we are listened to, our opinion matters and we work in collaboration with each other to support people living with disability to live well and thrive. I would say Emily has a very unique way in recognising potential in people and creating a safe space for us to be able to advance in our career and to be able also to grow. If I recall in 2023 I was awarded as the Clinical Coordinator of the Year in BET which really was an eye-opening for me and which really made me get out of my comfort zone and discover my talent and discover my potential and this has really advanced my career and I would say I'm so grateful to Emily because if not for her I would still be hiding and still be lying under that comfort zone.
Thank you so much Emily for what you do and for what you've continued doing. You are a very humble lady. Even with all this award we've continued to see you being as passionate as you are.
We've continued to see you being the visionary person that you are, always thinking about taking BET to the next level and you are a go-getter. You have shown us that the sky is not always the limit. You have really made us to strive to work harder and to really improve on who we are and better ourselves, not only as part of BET employees but also in our lives.
Thank you so much."

"In all my previous employment here in Australia, it was Emily who has entrusted me with sensitive responsibilities in her business from a support worker role with a different service provider to BET and I quickly became a team leader, compliance coordinator and now I'm a compliance manager Australia-wide for BET. On a frequent occasions I've been acting as a CEO when Emily has some important commitments to attend to. Emily has offered opportunities to whoever comes to her with ideas on how to do things better and always happy to provide constructive feedback for improvement and I think that makes our work environment a lot more conducive for everyone.
On another important note, there is a lot of fairness that nobody is incapable of contributing to the greater good in BET group nor allow anyone else to write their own stories and that is the philosophy that Emily puts in place for all the staff that we write our own stories in the way we best understand and that gives us the opportunity to really thrive in what we do and we do it in a manner that expresses our own contribution to the task that is assigned to us. Emily has lived experience of someone with disability and that did not stop her but instead it started her to support others in every way and this is a movement to us. It is a movement that we have found ourselves waking up every day to become aware of and come to work and ensuring people living with disabilities live well and thrive where and whenever possible.
This is very satisfying to most of us who work with Emily here at BET."
